Casey Anthony Arrives to Afternoon Court Hearing **UPDATE on Jude Strickland's Rulings**

Video: Casey Arrives in Court

Casey Anthony's court appearance for Jose Baez's filed motions regarding Casey's Photobucket account pictures, was held in afternoon court, beginning at 4:15pm EST. The motion also includes the suppression of the Orange County Corrections facility's video of Casey's reaction when told that remains had been found on December 11, 2008.
In argument, Baez stated that he has not seen the video himself as of yet. In reference to the Photobucket account photos, or "images", as Baez referred to them, Baez announced to Judge Strickland, to "take his word for it, they are not relevant to the case", and are only being used to paint the defendant in a negative light.

It did not take the pictures to paint Casey in a negative light. She seems to have a valiant way of doing that all on her own. The pictures are still available on the internet account, as well as other accounts, by people who have transferred them to their accounts. They are out there for infinity. This, again, is a pretty lame tactic by Baez in an attempt to build a case. I believe it is called the "throw it and see what sticks" defense. Casey was roped into a corner and put into a negative light when she proclaimed her daughter was missing for 31 days and she was "looking for her" at Fusian nightclub, where on one occasion, she brought Caylee with her, to attend an "event" at the club.

Judge Strickland said that Baez was premature in stating that the photos had no bearing on the case at this point.

State prosecutors have not decided whether to bring certain photos or the jail video taped reaction of Casey upon being told of the finding of the remains.

Prosecution also stated that they could be nearing a four week time frame for their prosecution, not including jury selection for the trial of Casey Anthony. Judge Strickland set a tentative date of October 12, 2009, for the trial start date.

George and Cindy Anthony were both in attendance for the motion hearing. They sat directly behind Casey. The only eye contact between the three family members was a brief smile and a mouthed "Hi", to her parents from Casey Anthony, who turned her head for a moment before the beginning of the hearing. Casey also glanced back briefly to Cindy and George while being escorted out of the courtroom at the end of the hearing.

Judge Strickland ruled late Monday afternoon to allow the pictures included in Casey's Photobucket account to be released as they are already considered "public domain", due to their existence on Casey's public account on Photobucket. Most of the pictures have already been released, and those that have not been released by the media can be viewed freely by the public by accessing the accounts set up by Casey, or accounts set up by others who have copied the pictures or "added" them to their favorites in their accounts.
As for the video tape of Casey in the sick hall at the jail, Judge Strickland ruled that the defense will have an opportunity to view the video and then have 15 days on whether to reverse the motion, or petition the court again.

Lee Anthony Deposition: Video Release of Lee Anthony Deposition and Transcripts (Full)

LEE ANTHONY: "I BELIEVE MY SISTER."

After answering questions for more than three hours, Anthony said Gonzalez is not “Zanny the Nanny,” the person Casey said kidnapped her daughter, Caylee.

Anthony was asked questions about his thoughts on Casey's innocence or guilt, which we're told he shied away from.

However, Lee did point out Gonzalez and said this is not the woman Casey described.

"I believe my sister at this point," Anthony said during the deposition.

Gonzalez' attorneys suspended this deposition, saying they will petition the court to if they can get Lee Anthony to answer some of the questions he did not answer.

Motion For Protective Order Feb 26
This motion filed to prevent further release of Casey's "Photobucket" online account photographs. Baez also attached a copy of the Casey Anthony doll that was auctioned on Ebay, stating that the public is forming a biased opinion of the defendant based on the photographs that have been released by the prosecution. Lee Anthony Deposed in Zenaida Gonzalez Civil Suit--Casey Expected In Court Monday

LEE ANTHONY ANSWERS HARD QUESTIONS REGARDING ZENAIDA -- VIDEO TAPE OF DEPOSTION TO BE RELEASED TO MEDIA FRIDAY AFTERNOOON

Lee Anthony faced tough questioning at the law offices of Morgan and Morgan Friday during a deposition, in the defamation suit filed against his sister, Casey Anthony.
Casey has been charged with her daughter Caylee Anthony's murder. She claims that Caylee was kidnapped by a baby sitter named Zenaida Gonzalez.
Lee Anthony has been answering questions under oath for over two hours. Lee said that he never met or seen Zenaida Gonzalez and that the first time he ever heard her name was in July when Casey was arrested.

The deposition started late due to Casey Anthony's civil attorney, Jonathan Kasen's indecision on attending the deposition. Kasen, in the end, decided not to attend.
George and Cindy Anthony received a temporary reprieve due to their emotional state.
A tape of the deposition is expected to be released and news outlets will receive a copy some time Friday.
Zenaida Gonzalez claims Casey ruined her life when she said a babysitter with the same name kidnapped Caylee. Gonzalez could be one step closer to clearing her name Friday at the deposition.
Gonzalez is suing Casey Anthony for defamation for connecting her to the disappearance of Caylee.
Gonzalez's attorney, Keith Mitnik feels that the Anthonys have trashed his client’s name. Mitnik wants to hear everything Lee Anthony knows about Gonzalez.
Keith Mitnik believes he can prove during the deposition that Lee Anthony doesn't know anything about the babysitter or that there was never a Zenaida Gonzalez to begin with.

WHAT'S NEXT FOR CASEY ANTHONY?

Meanwhile, Casey Anthony is scheduled to appear in court again on Monday.
Her attorney Jose Baez wants to stop the state from releasing thousands of pictures from Casey's computer and her "photobucket" account.
However, many of the images have already been released.

Haleigh Cummings Update: Home No Longer Crime Scene

CRIME SCENE TAPE COMES DOWN--HOME RELEASED BACK TO FAMILY

Haleigh's house in Putnam County had been cordoned off as a crime scene ever since she disappeared earlier this month. But Friday, the crime scene tape finally came down.
Haleigh Cummings' Green Lane home where she was abducted from in the middle of the night is no longer a crime scene. However, Ronald Cummings said he won't live in his home after knowing his little girl was taken out of her bed.

VIDEO REPORT: Crime Tape Comes Down

Meanwhile the search teams canvassed the thick wooded area for clues.

Cadaver dogs continue to search areas around the home of Haleigh Cummings Friday.

Thursday one dog alerted on a nearby dumpster, but a thorough search found nothing.
The wooded areas are new to the cadaver dogs. The sheriff's office wants to make sure nothing was missed in the search.
Bryan Selzer and his dog Eli came from Jacksonville to aid in the search for Haleigh Cummings Friday afternoon.
"We're just doing a different area today. We're hitting mostly the wooded area that we are searching and again we are searching that for the second time to make sure that everything's covered," said Selzer.
Seven cadaver dogs searched the wooded area and investigators said they are trained to sniff out human remains. The specially trained dogs searched the Cummings' neighborhood Thursday and found nothing but rotting trash in a dumpster.
Selzer said going through the woods is more difficult than it looks.
"It just takes a lot longer; we have to take more breaks more often for the dogs to recover. But it's do-able but just takes longer," he said.

Daily Dose of Grace: Nancy Grace--Thursday 2.26.09

Your Daily Dose of Grace: Thursday, 2.26.09 episode. Nancy covers the dumpster search in the Haleigh Cummings case. This episode of Nancy Grace appears to have been previously recorded and is not "live", or at least portions have been pre-recorded. There are no caller questions. Also, the interview with Haleigh's "paternal" grandmother, Teresa Neves, Ronald Cummings, mother, appears to have been recorded earlier, due to outside lighting. Teresa Neves also told reporters both families were told to stay at their respective locations and to not impede on the search of the dumpster. Nancy also interviews missing Amber Dubois' parents and discusses a new "theory" on Amber's disappearance.

Haleigh Cummings Update --DUMPSTER SEARCH REVEALS NO EVIDENCE FOUND AS OF YET

INVESTIGATORS SCOUR NEIGHBORHOOD DUMPSTER UNTIL LATE THURSDAY NIGHT-- NO EVIDENCE FOUND AS OF YET

UPDATE: 2.26.09 10:45pm CST
There was a new tip and a new hunt in Thursday's search for Haleigh Cummings; however, no new answers came from either.
Haleigh, 5, has been missing for 17 days.
On Thursday morning, several teams of dogs specially trained to find human remains began searching in the area around the Putnam County mobile home park where Haleigh disappeared on Feb. 10.
Nine Putnam County deputies and seven canine teams, some from a non-law-enforcement group called Canine South, were searching "to ensure that no possibility is overlooked in the search for Haleigh."
Late in the afternoon, investigators converged on the neighborhood to search a dumpster where cadaver dogs picked up scent. However, after about six hours of scouring through the dumpster police said they found nothing that could be linked to missing Haleigh.
Investigators said three cadaver dogs noticed a scent in the same spot. The dogs and others had been combing the area as part of routine search.
"It could be various items, and may not necessarily be something related to the case," said Brian Selzer, of Canine Search and Rescue as investigators searched through the plastic bags found in the dumpster.
Selzer explained that the dogs brought to Satsuma on Thursday have been trained to alert only on the scent of human decomposition, not meat or dead animals. He said the dogs could hit on a something a small as a bandage used to cover a person's bloody cut.
Detectives went through the large dumpster by hand, and then a backhoe was brought in to go through some excess debris at the bottom of the container.
After going through every square inch of the dumpster, they gave up the search.
"There's several anomalies that can cause a K-9 to hit. We don’t know what's in the mind of the dog. The dog did what's it trained to do. We did what we have to do afterward, which is to search. Everything comes done to the human search, and we found nothing of consequence," said Putnam Sheriff's Office Major Gary Bowling. "We don’t know why the dog hit, but there's nothing there that indicates that we need to search any further."
Investigators said they did search around the same dumpster days ago, shortly after Haleigh's disappearance, but found nothing. Investigators said they never went into the dumpster until Thursday evening.
According to investigators, all of the garbage in the area in the days following Haleigh's disappearance was taken to a special part of the county's landfill and gone through piece by piece. They said there was no sign of anything relating to the disappearance of Haleigh.
The cadaver dogs are expected to return to the area on Friday to continue to search the area for clues.

BREAKING NEWS: CADAVER DOGS HIT ON DUMPSTER NEAR HALIEGH CUMMINGS' HOME

Law enforcement and CSI are going through a construction dumpster near the home of missing Haleigh Cummings at this moment.

Earlier today, a cadaver dog made a "hit" on the dumpster that could indicate human remains within the dumpster.

Law enforcement and investigators are combing through the dumpster at this time.

Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, remains missing. UPDATE: Crystal has re-appeared at the family's makeshift tent and has submitted a DNA test.

Story just breaking and more information will be posted as available.

UPDATE: Haleigh Cummings: Mother, Crystal Sheffield, Missing

UPDATE: CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD RE-APPEARS AFTER CADAVER DOGS HIT ON DUMPSTER.

Crystal Sheffield has returned to the family's makeshift tent-home. She stated moments ago that she did consent to a DNA sample. Law enforcement followed Crystal to the office of the doctor where Crystal had an appointment earlier today and obtained the DNA sample.

Investigators are still combing through a dumpster, located less than two-tenths of a mile from the Cummings' home, where Haleigh was last seen.

CRYSTAL SHEFFIELD MISSING AFTER AUTHORITIES ISSUE REQUEST FOR DNA

Haleigh Cummings' biological mother, Crystal Sheffield has been missing since this afternoon after learning that law enforcement was on their way to obtain a DNA sample.

Before Crystal drove away, Crystal told family members, "Tell them I have a doctor's appointment.", referring to investigators that were on their way to obtain the DNA sample.

Cadaver dogs were also brought in today and were taken to the home of Haleigh Cummings, where she was last seen. Handlers also took the dogs to other nearby locations. News reports state that Crystal Sheffield and Ronald Cummings were also at the locations where the cadaver dogs were taken.
Seven cadaver dogs and nine officers were sent to search an area surrounding the home of Haleigh Cummings. Deputies said the search was being conducted to make sure that nothing is overlooked.
The cadaver dogs and officers searched for human remains. The cadaver dogs were seen sniffing along the panels underneath mobile homes -- in the event a body was placed underneath.
Investigators believe Haleigh Cummings was taken from her home on Green Lane in Satsuma on February 9. Sheriff Jeff Hardy, as well as everyone involved in the investigation said they continue to hope that Haleigh is found alive and in good health.
Investigators said Thursday's search was not in response to leads received from the family or the public, but as a routine procedure that has proven itself in other missing child cases.
The canine teams are a part of Canine South, a non-law enforcement organization out of South Georgia that specializes in canine searches. The teams consist of cadaver dogs that specifically seek out human remains.
Investigators said more dogs will search the area again Friday.

The family also has released home video of Haleigh from Christmas 20008.

GIRLFRIEND MISTY CROSLIN TAKEN IN FOR QUESTIONING BY AUTHORITIES-- AGAIN

Misty Croslin, Haleigh's father's girlfriend was the last one to see the 5-year- old. Croslin was taken away for questioning again Thursday morning.

It's been nearly three weeks since the 5-year-old was taken out of her bed in the middle of the night. Deputies said Haleigh was home asleep with her little brother and father's girlfriend when the crime happened.
