Haleigh Cummings Search UPDATE: HALEIGH HAS ILLNESS NEEDS MEDS / Court Docs Filed in 2006 Show Troubled Family Past

Missing Florida Girl Has Turner Syndrome; Requires Daily Medication

LEARN: Turner Syndrome*1

For additional information, please see additional link in post below.

Court documents (see below) filed by the mother of missing girl Haleigh Cummings Crystal Sheffield, claims Haleigh wandered off when she was in her father's care in 2005.
The document is a "Motion for Rehearing and Objection to Findings of Magistrate." It was filed by Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, in January 2006. Sheffield filed it after Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, was granted primary custody by a judge in December 2005.

The motion says "During or about the month of July 2005, Ronald failed to keep control of the toddler Haleigh while she was in his care, and allowed her to wander off. The child was found and rescued by the mother, floating face down in the canal behind the house. The mother rescued and revived the child."

Crystal Sheffield said she was outside Ronald's mother's house putting Haleigh's younger brother, Ronald Cummings Jr., in his car seat. She claimed Ronald Cummings Sr. was responsible for Haleigh. Sheffield said she asked Ronald where Haleigh was and he didn't know. She claims she soon found Haleigh in the canal.
Sheffield never called police about this incident and there is no other record of it taking place. A judge has yet to change Ronald's primary custody status.
According to the "Report and Recommendation of the General Magistrate" obtained from the Putnam County Courthouse, a judge granted primary custody to Ronald Cummings after Crystal Sheffield failed to appear at the custody hearing.
Ronald told the judge Haleigh has Turner Syndrome*2 and needs hormone treatments by an endocrinologist. He said Sheffield frequently failed to take Haleigh to her doctors appointments.
Haleigh's father also told the judge Sheffield had a drug problem and was unemployed.
Sheffield was granted visitation rights with both of her children. She can see them every other weekend and on certain holidays. The judge also ordered her to pay child support to Ronald.

Haleigh Cummings: Sunday Update; Day Six

Search For Haleigh Continues Into Sixth Day

The search for missing Satsuma, Florida, Haleigh Cummings continued Sunday. The five year old went missing from her home amost a week ago. After a sixth day of searching for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings turned up "nothing of significance," authorities said they are close to wrapping up the ground operation and on Sunday moved the command center from the neighborhood to the Putnam County emergency operations center.

"We're still treating it as an abduction because, as we said early on, that brings out the highest level of response," Putnam County Sheriff's Office Chief Deputy Rick Ryan said Sunday afternoon.
"This is not 'CSI.' We cannot wrap it up in an hour. We wish we could," Ryan said. "These men and women are working their tails off."
Ryan dismissed reports that a missing or absconded sexual predator from nearby Marion County was connected to Haleigh's disappearance. While a warrant is out for the arrest of Chad Reynolds, Ryan said deputies checked out reports that the offender had connections or family ties in Putnam County and found them unfounded.

Saturday, George and Cindy Anthony stopped by the search area briefly to offer support to Haleigh’s parents. After months of searching, Caylee Anthony’s remains were found in a wooded area near her home.

People searching in Satsuma are optimistic this search will end differently and Haleigh will be found alive.
Searchers found "items of interest" during Friday's search. Saturday, the search continued, but did not reveal any new leads.

The past several days Hayleigh’s parents have been holding separate prayer vigils, but Saturday night both sides of the family joined together and held a prayer vigil for Haleigh.
Crystal Sheffield said the hope of getting her daughter safely home is the only thing that keeps her going.
"Everybody's here for you," Sheffield said. "If you're watching these, your momma misses you, daddy misses you ... your whole family misses you and we will bring you home."

Authorities ask anyone with any information to call the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at 386-329-0800 or the FDLE's Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse at 888-FL-MISSING.

Haleigh Cummings: Police Report: "Small Child's Footprint Found On Dirt Path"

The original police report states deputies found what "appeared to be a small child's footprint" in the dirt on a path behind the house on the night Haleigh disappeared.

The discovery was made when officers first arrived and called in K-9 officers to Cummings' home in the pre-dawn hours of Tuesday.
According to the report, "The track led directly out the back door and down a wooded path. As we traveled down the wooded path, we located what appeared to be a small child's footprint in the dirt."
The report goes on to say, "It should be noted that (Haleigh's father) said Haleigh's shoes were still inside the residence."
The dogs and officers followed the track to a pond and then circled back near the Cummings' home and then out of the neighborhood to a location very near Haleigh's school bus stop.
In the days since, everything within a five-mile radius of Haleigh's home has been searched and searched again. Interviews have been conducted with all neighbors, all of the sexual offenders registered in the area and all of Haleigh's family members and their friends.
Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said his investigators have pursued more than 350 leads and plan to re-interview family members and others who had contact with Haleigh.
"At this time, the world is a suspect," Hardy said. "We really haven't excluded anybody."
Dominick Pape, special agent in charge of the Jacksonville office of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, said forensic evidence collected during the investigation such as DNA and fingerprints would be a priority.
About 20 agents work around the clock at a command center parked near the doublewide mobile home where the girl went missing.

Haleigh Cummings: Friday; Day Four of Search: "Very Productive"

Overcast skies and occasional rain did not stop more than 200 volunteers and officials with more than 17 local, state and federal agencies in the fifth day of the search for 5-year-old Haleigh Ann-Marie Cummings.
Haleigh was last seen when she was put to bed at 10 p.m. Monday in her father's home just north of Satsuma. Five hours later, the girl was reported missing by her father and his girlfriend.
With an Amber Alert issued, a growing numbers of investigators have arrived in southern Putnam County in what became a massive search for a kindergartner who authorities came to believe was abducted.
Late Friday, after an expanded search by a team of trained search-and-rescue volunteers turned up several "items of interest," the mood was upbeat.

As Saturday's search came to an end, Putnam County Undersheriff Rick Ryan said the crime lab had ruled those items out as evidence and nothing new of significance had turned up.
Ryan said the lack of progress does not have them discouraged.
"We're as optimistic right now as we were on day one. Of course we're frustrated ... but we haven't lost our motivation or our drive," Ryan said. "We're not going to stop looking for her."
Volunteers with Texas Equusearch accompanied by law enforement officers continued to look for anything out of the ordinary, such as fresh tire tracks, beaten-down brush, burn marks, clothing or anything that's out of place in the environment.
Saturday's search also included the use of high-tech equipment, including some SONAR devices and thermal-imaging cameras.

Haleigh Cummings: Fourth Day Updates-Searchers Expand Search Area; Some Family Members Re-Interviewed

After four days and no sign of little 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, the search became more intense Friday with more interviews, more volunteers and a wider, more expansive search for Haleigh.

Tim Miller, from Texas-based EquuSearch, was involved in the search for Caylee Anthony and is now leading the search for Haleigh.

Related Video: Crews Expand Search For Missing 5-Year-Old Girl

Investigators are re-interviewing family members, but wouldn't say which ones.

Putnam County's sheriff said Friday the search area has expanded past the initial five miles into thick, dense woods. EquuSearch and other volunteers started carefully walking, riding and driving through areas looking for the little girl.
Investigators say they found items of interest in their search Friday and that was confirmed by the sheriff's office late Friday afternoon. They won't say what they found or where they found it, but it may be important evidence and it turned up because of Friday's intense search.

Friday afternoon brought the end of another long day of searching for little Hayleigh Cummings. Many volunteers have driven themselves nearly to exhaustion.
The back-breaking work has now expanded beyond the five-mile radius around the little girl's Putnam County home, through the woods on foot and on horseback.

"This community has a lot of empathy and sympathy for the parents, and we just want to do whatever we can to help," searcher Wanda Cassady said.
The sheriff is also searching the shoreline of the St. Johns River and the local lakes and the chopper was in the air most of the day. The number of searchers has swelled into the hundreds now, thanks to the arrival of the Texas EquuSearch team, which organizes volunteers just as it did in Orlando when Caylee Anthony was missing.
"There's areas they've got mapped out and we're gonna concentrate on that. The area's law enforcement has. We're gonna cover every square inch," EquuSearch's Tim Miller said.

While deputies are still on the ground looking, a large crew of fresh volunteers frees up more detectives to work on the investigation, which has included additional interviews with family members.

Meanwhile, locals who know their way around the area are covering acres and acres by riding horses and ATVs.

"There's nobody that knows the trails like the people that made the trails," said an ATV searcher.

Dominick Pape, special agent in charge of the Jacksonville office of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, said forensic evidence collected during the investigation such as DNA and fingerprints would be a priority.

About 20 agents are working around the clock at a command center parked near the double wide mobile home where the girl went missing.

"We have yet to make a recovery and we are working toward that," Pape said.
The new search area will include rivers, thick brush and swampy areas. The search will continue round the clock over the weekend.

Texas Equusearch and Tim Miller Arrive In Satsuma To Search For Haleigh Cummings

The search for missing five-year-old Haleigh Cummings continued Friday morning.

At 8:00am crews began their fourth day of intense efforts to find her.

Key searchers from the Caylee Anthony case are involved in the search effort, namely Tim Miller with Texas EquuSearch; Caylee's grandfather ,George Anthony; and bounty hunter, Leonard Padilla have a been at the scene since Thursday.

Haleigh disappeared early Tuesday morning from her home in Satsuma, about 85 miles north of Orlando and west of Flagler County.

Crews To Continue Massive Search For Haleigh

Tim Miller, TX Equusearch
Friday morning, searchers with Texas-based Equusearch will begin a massive search for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings in Satsuma.

"We're holding on to some kind of miracle she just wandered away," said Tim Miller of EquuSearch.

Deputies chopped through the wooded area surrounding Hayleigh's neighborhood Thursday. They had to use machetes because of the thick brush.

Putnam County sheriff's investigators said someone snatched the little girl right out of her bed Monday night while her father's 17-year-old live-in girlfriend slept nearby.

Officials interviewed 44 sex offenders living with 5-miles of the Cummings' home. Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, begged for her safe return.

"I want my daughter back, that's all I want. I want my daughter back," he pleaded.

Tim Miller said getting his searchers to work as soon as possible was the goal.

'It's very critical to get out there as quick as we can get out there. I wish we would have been here the first hour but unfortunately there's never a warning when there's a possible abduction," he said.

Miller is looking for volunteers to help out in the search Friday morning and into the weekend. The group is expected to gather at 8:00am.

The mother of Hayleigh Cummings, Crystal Sheffield, was surrounded by her family and friends during a prayer vigil Thursday night for her daughter. She couldn't hold back the tears.

Haleigh's grandfather, Johnny Sheffield was there for support and to help in the search.

"We don't want another tragic ending, like her to end up like Caylee Anthony,' said Johnny.

editor's note: In my opinion, it seems as if George Anthony is doing more harm than good with his efforts at this search. Law enforcement in this county and city have pulled out all the stops, as in the Caylee Anthony search. Is Mr. Sheffield implying that law enforcement is not doing enough to search for his granddaughter? Or, is he expressing his concerns that foul play may somehow be involved, concerning members of his extended family, or others?

The small crowd held candles and came from all over the area, holding signs saying they want the little girl to come back home. "I'm just here to show support to the family," said one supporter.

Updates will be posted as they are released.

Three years ago, Haleigh's mother took her and her young brother away from their father even though he had custody. Ronald went to court to get them back.

Haleigh's mother claimed to have purchased a whole-life insurance policy for her and the children. However, investigators said they have no information about the policy.

UPDATE: George Anthony VIDEO INTERVIEW From Satsuma at Haleigh Cummings Search

The desperate search for a missing 5-year-old girl in Putnam County continued Thursday. Police say someone apparently snatched Haleigh Cummings from her bed.
Detectives say Haleigh disappeared from her father's house Monday night and she's reportedly at the center of a big custody battle.
So far, search teams have spent more than 60 hours on the ground, in the air and in the water looking for any sign of her. Some familiar faces also joined in the search, including George Anthony and Leonard Padilla. The Cummings family met with both and is asking for help to find their little girl.

PRESS CONFERENCE CLIPS: Father Begs For Her Return
EXCLUSIVE: GEORGE ANTHONY SPEAKS TO REPORTERS George Anthony On Search
A Putnam County sheriff's search team chopped its way through thick woods, as thick as the day is long, one deputy said, looking for any sign of 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings.
"We're working hard, but we're gonna get it done. We're gonna get this whole thing searched," Det. James Edgar said.
Just a few hundred yards away, Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings, fought back tears, begging for his little girl's safe return.
"I want my daughter back, that's all I want. I want my daughter back. I'm not out for revenge. Nothing else. I want my daughter back," he said Thursday.
Haleigh was reported missing during the early hours of Tuesday morning, after Cummings' 17-year-old girlfriend, Misty Croslin, got up to check on her. Croslin told a 911 dispatcher that a back door that was usually locked had been propped open by a brick.
"I loved that little girl like she was my own, and she loved me," Croslin said Thursday.
Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, also believes someone took her daughter.
"I just want my baby here. I just want them to bring back my baby," she said, tears running down her cheeks.
The family is being comforted by George Anthony, who is in the national spotlight because of the murder of his granddaughter, Caylee. George said he didn't hesitate to come to Putnam County.
"They do not need to be judged. They do not need to be scrutinized. They need your help," Anthony said.
Meanwhile, searchers are checking all the homes and every inch of the woods around Haleigh's house and will fan out from there if they have to as the child's family waits for any word.
"Why would anyone want to take a child from any parent? Period!" Ronald Cummings said.
John Harrell, spokesman for the northeast region of the Florida Department of Children and Families, said Thursday that his agency "was involved with the family." Harrell would not offer any details, citing state confidentiality laws.
Sheffield's family gathered at the mobile home community where the child disappeared.
Her grandmother, Nancy Griffis, 43, described Haliegh as a "highly intelligent" child who loved to play with makeup, purses, cell phones and "girlie stuff."
An uncle, Andrew Sheffield, believes she is alive, but the mystery of her whereabouts continues.
"It's fishy," he said. "Somebody knows something."

The 17-year-old girlfriend of a man whose 5-year-old daughter disappeared early Tuesday morning said that she woke up, found the kitchen light on, the back door wide open and the girl missing.
Haleigh Cummings was last seen at 10 p.m. Monday in her father's mobile home in Satsuma, where Misty Croslin said she put the girl to sleep in a bedroom with her 3-year-old brother. At 3:30 a.m., the girl was reported missing. By first light, a massive search was under way and an Amber Alert was issued.
Croslin has been interviewed by detectives and volunteered to take a lie-detector test -- which she said she passed -- but had not spoken publicly until midday Thursday when she spoke to a local reporter.
"I didn't hear anything at all. If I'd heard something, I would have got up and I wouldn't have let them take her," Croslin said.
Croslin said after putting Haleigh to sleep about 8 p.m., she was up doing laundry, which was right by the back door, which she knew was locked when she went back in the bedroom. She said she put a blanket on Haleigh and lay down beside her.
It's unclear whether Croslin left the bedroom prior to Haleigh disappearing. Croslin's account indicates that she left the room at some point. She said she woke up about 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom.
Misty Croslin tearfully describes waking up, finding the back door of their mobile home open and Haleigh gone.

VIDEO:UNCUT: Girlfriend Talks About Finding Haleigh Gone

"I didn't make it to the bathroom. I seen the kitchen light on and I walked in the kitchen and the back door is wide open," Croslin told reporter, Laura Mazzeo. "I go in the room and she's gone. And that's all I know. When I went to bed she was there and then when I got up and she was gone."
Police have said they believe Croslin was with Haleigh until waking up at 3 a.m. Investigators said Croslin called 911 to report the girl missing about the time Haleigh's father, Ronald Cummings Jr., came home from working a night shift at his job in Palatka.
Croslin said she and Cummings, 25, had been dating for five months. Cummings had legal custody of Haleigh and her brother.
Croslin said Haleigh and her 3-year-old brother "look at me like their mom."
"I love her like she's my own," she said. "I just want her to come home."
Croslin said she doesn't blame herself, but she's emotionally devastated and just want to know that Haleigh is safe.
"I wished they'd took me instead of her, because I could have fought," Croslin said. "She's only 5; she can't really do anything. What do they want with a little 5-year-old?"
Cummings also spoke Thursday, defending Croslin and addressing rumors that he or his girlfriend were involved in Haleigh's disappearance.
"She had nothing to do with this. I had nothing to do with this," Cummings said. "I have been slandered as a sorry father. Obviously, in most cases, fathers don't get custody of their children. A lot of people are talking like this is a custody battle. It's not a custody battle. It's about finding my 5-year-old daughter."

Haleigh Cummings Audio of 911 Call; Mother and Father of Haleigh Plea For Return of Daughter

Audio of 911 call made by Misty Croslin to report 5 year old Haleigh Cummings missing.

The search continued Thursday for Haleigh Cummings, 5, who went missing from her home near Orlando.

The father of a missing 5-year-old Florida girl made a renewed plea Thursday for the return of his daughter.

"If you have my daughter and you're watching this, drop her off somewhere safe," Roland Cummings said of his daughter Haleigh.

"I'm not out for revenge, I'm not out for nothing else. I want my daughter back," Cummings said, with his girlfriend, Misty Croslin, at his side.

He said he could think of no reason Haleigh would be taken.

"Why would anybody be sick enough" to abduct a child? he asked.

Cummings, 25, said earlier that he and Croslin had passed lie detector tests.

Croslin, 17, was the last person to see Haleigh when she put the girl to bed Monday night in their Satsuma, Florida, home. She said she awoke in the middle of the night to find Haleigh gone and the back door to the double-wide trailer propped open with a brick.

Putnam County authorities on Thursday continued working with the FBI and state investigators to search a five-mile area for Haleigh.

Police have no official suspects, but say they are treating everyone they interview as one.

Cummings said earlier that he was surprised when he arrived home from work at 3 a.m. Tuesday to see his girlfriend awake, and he asked her why she was up.
"She said, 'Your back door's open and your daughter's gone,' " Cummings told Nancy Grace on her show on CNN's sister network HLN on Wednesday night. Watch Cummings describe his shock »
Croslin waited until Cummings came home to phone 911 about the girl's disappearance, though it's unclear how long that wait was. Watch the father describe what happened »
Police said Wednesday that Croslin had tucked the girl and her 4-year-old brother into bed at 8 p.m. before going to sleep at 10.
Croslin told police she woke up around 3 a.m. to use the bathroom and returned to find the girl missing. The boy was still in bed, Cummings told CNN.
A cinder block was propping the storm door open, Croslin told a 911 dispatcher. Hear the frantic 911 call »
The father said he has used the back door only two times since he's been living in the home.
Police say they believe the girl was abducted.
"There's no longer any reason to believe that the child simply wandered outside," Maj. Gary Bowling of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said Wednesday.
The police must "assume abduction," he said, adding, "All the answers to why you'd want to take a 5-year-old are ugly."
Haleigh's mother, Crystal Sheffield, shook as she spoke Thursday near the search area. Sheffield's mother, Marie Griffis, said that she and her daughter are devastated. "It's like I've got a hole in my body, and she feels helpless because she can't do anything but sit here."
A nationwide Amber Alert says the girl was last seen wearing a pink shirt and underwear.
Croslin is staying with relatives as the investigation continues, said Bowling, describing the girlfriend as a "child herself."
Griffis said that her daughter and Ronald Cummings had a "rocky relationship" and that the two took turns spending weekends with their daughter. Watch mother's tearful plea »
It's unclear if Sheffield and Cummings were ever married, but they are "legally separated," police said Thursday. Authorities were unable to answer media questions about how and why Cummings had custody of Haleigh.
Sheffield lives near the Florida-Georgia line and has been interviewed by law enforcement, according to police.
Investigators are looking into various angles of the case, including finding out the location of 44 registered sexual offenders who live within a five-mile radius of the Cummings home, said Lt. Johnny Greenwood of the Putnam County Sheriff's Office.
Police are offering but not requiring all those interviewed in the case to take polygraph tests.
A familiar face from the Caylee Anthony case is involved in the search. Bounty hunter Leonard Padilla joined the hunt and is offering a $25,000 reward for the girl's return.
Padilla initially bonded out Caylee's mother, Casey, who has been charged with first-degree murder in the toddler's death, and then helped launch one of several searches for Caylee.
Anyone with information is encouraged to call the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at 386-329-0800 or the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Missing Endangered Persons Information Clearinghouse at 888-FL-MISSING.

Haleigh Cummings: UPDATES 3:00EST: Padilla offers $25.000 reward; Equusearch, Josh Duckett, Arrives On The Scene

An Amber Alert remains in effect for a missing 5-year-old. I will be following the Haleigh Cumings disappearance case from all angles. .

Haleigh Cummings mother, her parents and other family members sat outside the subdivision where deputies said the 5-year-old was snatched from her father's home.
They're handing out fliers and asking questions.
They even have questions about the father and his girlfriend's story.
"Yeah I question all of it,” said Haleigh’s maternal grandmother Marie Griffis. “How can someone get up out of bed, go to the bathroom, then come back and find the child missing? Why didn't she see the child missing when she got up?”
The 5-year-old was first reported missing Monday by her father and his girlfriend

The father told deputies he locked the back door before leaving for work and left Haleigh in bed with his girlfriend.
The girlfriend, Misty Croslin, told deputies she went to the bathroom for a few minutes, and when she returned, Haleigh was gone.
Cunningham told deputies he routinely did this every night.
"If the back door is dead, bolted you're not just gonna pry it open, you're gonna have to break the door down," said Haleigh’s maternal grandfather Jeff Scheffield.
The grandfather and grandmother said someone inside a mobile home would have heardsomeone trying to break in.
Sheriff Jeff Hardy said there were no signs of forced entry.
"We don't know what to believe," said Griffis.
There is an ongoing rift between Haleigh’s mother and father, who are legally separated, but not divorced.
Griffis said the girl’s father would often threaten to take away visitation rights from the mother -- a mother who now sits speechless waiting for new information about her daughter's whereabouts.

Investigators : Haleigh Abducted

Putnam County investigators are getting some help with the search of missing 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings.
About a dozen members of Texas EquuSearch will be helping with the search on horseback on rough terrain. Josh Duckett, the father of missing Lake County toddler Trenton Duckett, is also helping in the search.
For the second night in a row, family and friends held a vigil for Haleigh, who has been missing since Monday night. Investigators still don't know if she was abducted or wandered away from her Satsuma home, which is about 70 miles north of Orlando.
Deputies said there were no signs of forced entry, but a back door was open.
At an 11 a.m. press conference Thursday, Putnam County Sheriff Jeff Hardy said investigators have covered a 5 mile area by helicopter and on the ground for Haleigh. A dive team also searched the St. Johns River near the girl’s home. Hardy said he’s not certain Haleigh is still in the area.
Florida Department of Law Enforcement and FBI are working with Putnam County investigators to locate the 44 known sex offenders living in the area.
Haleigh's father said his daughter was missing when he returned from work around 3 a.m. Tuesday. Ronald Cummings, who has legal custody of Haleigh, said his girlfriend was awake and frantic after she realized Haleigh was missing from her bed.
"I just got home from work and my 5-year-old daughter is gone," Cummings told a dispatcher on a 911 call. "If I find whoever has my daughter before you all do, I'm killing them. I don't care if I spend the rest of my life in prison."
Hardy said Cummings’ girlfriend was interviewed and given a polygraph. However, he did not disclose what was revealed.
Crystal Sheffield, Haleigh’s mother, admits the girl has wandered off before and was found in a canal.
"It wasn’t like she wandered out. I mean, we were getting ready to leave. I told her father to get her and put her in the car. I had already put Junior, the baby, in the car. I went back in to get the bags and the baby's stuff. I come out, Haleigh was not in the car, and I ran straight down to the canal, and that's where she was," Sheffield said.
Authorities said until they have other evidence, they are treating this as an abduction case.
Bounty hunter Leonard Padilla is offering a reward of $25,000 for the safe return of Haleigh by midnight Saturday.
If you have seen Haleigh Cummings, call the Putnam County Sheriff's Office at (386) 329-0808 or 911.

Leonard Padilla to Aid in Search for Missing 5 year old Haleigh Cummings

Some familiar faces from the Caylee Anthony case are involved in the search for a missing Putnam County girl.

Bounty hunter Leonard Padilla, who was involved in the search for Caylee Anthony, joined the search for 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings. Padilla is offering a $25,000 reward for her safe return.

Texas-based EquuSearch is also gearing up to help investigators scour the area around her home.

Investigators from Volusia and Flagler counties continues a massive search for a missing 5-year-old Putnam County girl. An Amber Alert has been issued for Haleigh Cummings.

Her father believes someone snatched Haleigh from her bedroom in Satsuma early Tuesday morning.

Haleigh was home with her father's girlfriend who noticed the child was missing. Her father made an emotional plea for Haleigh's safe return.

"I would give up everything I own. All I want is my child. Please. All I want is my child," said Ronald Cummings.

Investigators said there's no sign that someone forced their way into the home, but they did find a door open. The storm door to the back entry of their home was propped open with a cinder block.

Bloodhound search dogs followed Haleigh's scent to a nearby area of water. The area of water is being search with all possible and available means, including heat, arial, and water sonar.

Authorities searched the neighborhood by ground and air and questioned nearby sex offenders and the girl's relatives.

Putnam County officials have just held a press conference and have released further details.

Update on Missing Hayleigh Cummings, 5-year old Florida Girl

Amber Alert for Missing Haleigh Cummings from Satsuma, Florida,in Putnam County.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing girls who was last seen in her bedroom early Tuesday morning.

Updates are at bottom of posting

The father of the missing Florida girl made a 911 call when he came home from work at 3:30 am to find his daughter missing. Supposedly the back door was propped open by a cinder block on the floor.

While talking to a 911 operator, the father said that if he finds who abducted his daughter before officials do, he will kill them.

Haleigh Cummings was last seen wearing pajamas, consisting of a pink t-shirt.

Haleigh is a five year old white female with dark blond/light brown hair and brown eyes.

She weighs 39 pounds and is three feet tall.

She is a resident of Satsuma, Florida - Putnam county.

Anyone having information is asked to call 1-888-FL MISSING.

Following is the transcript from MSNBC of the 911 call. Apparently the father's girlfriend was initially talking to the 911 operator. She reportedly discovered the girl missing right before the father came home.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Caller:I just woke up and my back door was all open, and I can't find my daughter.
Operator:Can't find what?
Caller:My daughter.
Operator:OK. When did you last see her?
Caller:We just like, you know, it was about 10 o'clock. She was sleeping
Operator:OK. How old is your daughter?
Caller:She's 5.
Operator:OK. What was she last seen wearing, Ma'am?
Caller:She was in her pajamas. She was sleeping.
Operator:OK. Alright, you said your back door was wide open?
Caller:Yes, with a brick. Like, there was a brick on the floor. Like, when I went to sleep, the door was not like that.
Operator:OK. Was your back door locked? Do you know?
Caller:Yes. That door always stays locked.
Father:I just got home from work. My 5-year-old daughter is gone. I need someone to be here now. I'm telling you, if I find whoever has my daughter before you all do, I'm killing him. I don't care. I'll spend the rest of my life in prison.
Operator:It's OK sir. We got them on the way

Hayleigh's father, Ron, reports that his girlfriend, Misty, met him in the driveway when he arrived home from work around 3:27 Tuesday morning. Misty had put Hayleigh and her brother to bed around 8pm Monday night. Misty reports she went to bed between 10pm and 11pm. Misty then went to the restroom around 2am and 3am. It was not until she returned to bed that she noticed that Hayleigh was missing. Both children and Misty had slept in the same bed that night.

Update Feb 11:
A press conference was just held with officials investigating the disappearance of Haleigh.

Officers are considering that this could be an abduction or that the girl wandered off.

When they were asked if any family members were suspects, an officer said that it is "not safe to say that family members are not suspects." He went on to say that everyone is a suspect right now as no one has been ruled out.

Officers have dogs on the scene as well as divers and helicopters. It was said that they have a large investigative team on the case.

It was said that all family members as well as friends are being cooperative.

Officers have many leads that they are considering. They have asked that if anyone has a lead that they call them at 386-329-0809.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update Feb 12:
It was reported on MSNBC that officials are now treating Haleigh's disappearance as an abduction.

It was reported that Haleigh was sleeping in the same bed as Haleigh's father's girlfriend when she was abducted. It is being questioned how she could have slept through such a thing.

Officers said that there is no evidence of forced entry.

Police investigators in conjunction with the FBI are questioning the 44 known sex offenders that live within 5 miles of Haleigh's home.

Officer's are setting up a polygraph though they didn't say specifically to whom it would be administered.

They have received many leads... so many that they had to bring in additional staff to help handle the calls. Unfortunately, none of the leads are solid.

Officers say that family members and friends continue to be cooperative.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Update Feb 12 - 10:45 am EST:
Sheriff Jeff Hardy said in a news conference moments ago that evidence has been gathered in the case of Haleigh. He would not comment on what was included in the evidence. He said that the evidence is at a lab being analyzed.

Both Mr. Cummings and his girlfriend, Misty both volunteered to polygraphs. Mr. Cummings passed his polygraph "with flying colors".

Haleigh's father's girlfriend, Misty, has undergone a polygraph test as well. Hardy said he would not reveal the results of the test.

They have a dive team now involved in the case.

Hardy restated that the family has been extremely cooperative. He also said that the community has been extraordinary in helping organize and participating in voluntary search parties. They have also been opening their homes to investigators and provide them food and drinks.

Caylee Anthony Memorial: Leonard Padilla, Grund Family Banned From Memorial

Crowd Gathers At Caylee Makeshift Memorial To Mourn

Nearly 100 people paid their respects Tuesday to Caylee Anthony at the site where her remains were found. The small group of people added two new pieces to the memorial site, a poster board with her name on it and a heart.
Mostly everyone at the scene said they felt like the wooded area where the little girl's body was found was where they should be Tuesday morning to remember Caylee.
"Now she's an angel. What can you say? It is sad, sad," Heidi Pnoyer cried.
It was difficult for Heidi to express how she feels about little Caylee being laid to rest. Nearly 100 mourners started pulling onto Suburban Drive around 9:00am Tuesday. They came with their children, teddy bears and a florist delivered a basket of white flowers.
A heart-shaped sign and a large white poster board was put up so people could leave a message for Caylee at the site where her remains for found. All of the people at the remains scene Tuesday have followed the case from the beginning and Tuesday felt like they're getting closure.
"I pray for the mom, too. I know Caylee's in heaven, but the mom's got to live the rest of her life with this in her heart," mourner Kelly Rallison said.
Leonard Padilla, Jesse Grund's father and a few others were there, because they were banned from attending the memorial at the church. They didn't harp on that when they spoke to the crowd.

RAW INTERVIEW: Padilla On Nancy Grace

"You see a little child, I want you to smile, I want you to show them love. That may be the only smile, only love they get that day," Richard Grund said.
Many of the people there took pictures of the memorial, which will disappear soon. But no one will ever forget the impact Caylee has had on so many people she never even met. Even as they fight back tears, they have comfort knowing she's in a better place now.
Leonard Padilla and the Anthony's two private investigators, who videotaped the area where Caylee's remains were found before the actual discovery, will be questioned under oath next month in the civil case against Casey.
Zeniada Gonzalez is behind the civil suit. She says her life was ruined when Casey said a nanny with the same name took Caylee Anthony.

Hundreds of mourners remembered slain Florida toddler Caylee Anthony in a music-filled service Tuesday, months after her mysterious disappearance inspired dozens of volunteers to search for her body before and after her mother was charged with killing her.

"There are days you don't know what to say and these are one of these days," said Pastor David Uth, who offered a "prayer of peace" for Casey Anthony, who was in the Orange County Jail less than a mile away, facing a first-degree murder charge. She has pleaded not guilty and claims a baby sitter kidnapped Caylee.
Images of the girl, who was 2 when she disappeared, flashed on a giant screen in front of the First Baptist Church of Orlando sanctuary as a pianist played, "You Are My Sunshine" and "If You're Happy and You Know It." A video montage of her jumping on a bed and dressed like an Easter bunny ended the service.
Casey Anthony could have asked for permission to watch the memorial broadcast live on TV but didn't, according to jail officials. The 22-year-old said in a statement read by her attorney that she missed Caylee "every day and every minute of every day" (read full statement /watch Baez read).
Casey Anthony's parents, George and Cindy, who arranged the public service, urged mourners to support their daughter.
"It breaks my heart today that Casey isn't here today to honor her child who she loved so much," Cindy Anthony said during the eulogy. "Casey, I hope you're listening to this. I wish I could comfort you. I wish I could take away your pain and wipe away your tears."
Thousands of mourners had been expected, but only several hundred people showed up, including many who never knew Caylee or her family. They included Jessica Smith, who drove 160 miles from West Palm Beach with a co-worker to attend, saying she felt compelled to be there "to say our prayers for her."
"I'm a mother myself," said Smith, 25, who has a son Caylee's age. "It touches close to home."
Caylee disappeared in June, but her mother didn't report her missing until a month later, telling authorities she was looking for her. Caylee's remains were found in December in woods near her home, about two months after prosecutors brought charges against her mother.
Casey Anthony also said in her statement that she wished the service would have been private and not open to the public and media.
"I still don't want a public event with cameras and everybody around for Caylee's service, but I can't stop my parents from doing what they want," she said. "I truly hope that it will help them."
George Anthony said his daughter deserved love and letters of support while she was in jail.
"I miss my daughter, Casey," George Anthony said. "Do not form judgments because I tell you, you do not want to be in any of our shoes."
Security was tight, given that the Anthony family had faced protesters at their house before the daughter was arrested. A dozen deputies were stationed at the church and mourners had to pass through a metal detector to get into the sanctuary. No protesters showed up.
Some mourners said they felt a connection to Caylee since they had been following the case since she was reported missing.
"I had hoped she would have been found alive," said Justine Lorence, 22, who drove up with Smith from West Palm Beach. "I feel like I have to pay my respects to her because I've been watching this from the start."
As of Tuesday morning, the Orange County jail said Casey had not requested permission to watch Caylee's funeral on TV, but she can do so at any time. She would have to watch in the presence of a corrections officer. Eyewitness News has also learned she has a small radio that she may be able to use to listen to the memorial service.
Also Tuesday morning, around 9:30am, Casey's attorney, Jose Baez arrived at the jail to meet with her and was allowed to take his laptop into the meeting with her. Therefore, she may be able to watch the memorial service online, as well.

Caylee Memorial: Was Lee Anthony Sending a Coded Message to Casey?

The Memorial for Caylee Anthony was beautiful and moving. It was far more than my expectations. The music was brilliantly performed and the sermons fitting for the day. I was very impressed with George Anthony and his appearance. He seemed sure of himself, yet very solemn, as is to be expected.

Then there was Lee Anthony. He approached the podium with laptop in hand. More than caught my eye. For what Lee had to say, did not have to be written down. It could have been memorized. George did not seem to use notes, neither did Cindy, they spoke from their heart.

Lee, however, never mentioned Caylee's name. Not one time. All he kept repeating was "CMA". "CMA", then kissed a bracelet on his wrist. Lee spoke of how long it had been "since he last saw you"; and how "he wished he could hug you". Lee then added, "I will keep the promise I made to you". Lee said it was difficult for him to be the pillar of strength for the family. He repeated "CMA" a few more times and was finished. Not a very poignant speech in my opinion. Not touching, no memories of he and his little niece that he so cherished. He finished and placed his laptop on a table behind the podium while George began to speak.

To which "CMA" was Lee referring? Caylee Marie Anthony, or Casey Marie Anthony?

According to sources at the jail, Casey did not request to watch the memorial. Instead, she opted for a visit from good 'ol Jose Baez. A little defense strategy party? Or was she secretly watching the memorial via live stream from Baez's laptop? Speculation is already starting to fly.

Mourners started arriving at the church before 4:00am Tuesday morning. Many say they wanted to be there early to claim their spot.

The church can seat over 5,000 people and there are designated parking lots around the church to help accommodate what's expected to be large crowds.
"The parking lot should be full because it touched a lot of people, especially a lot of families," Watts said.

Casey Anthony Makes First Statement Since Indictment: "I Miss Caylee Everyday"

One of the last photos taken of Caylee Anthony

Casey Anthony wants the world to know that she misses her daughter and regrets she cannot attend Tuesday's memorial service.
"I miss Caylee every day and every minute of every day," Casey Anthony said in a statement read by her lawyer. "I can't be there for Caylee's funeral, but someday I want to go and visit her grave and tell her how much I miss her."
Casey and Caylee Anthony

Casey Anthony, 22, issued her first public comment since her October indictment on first-degree murder in her daughter's death. The two-minute statement was read by defense attorney Jose Baez outside his Kissimmee office.

She allowed her parents, Cindy and George Anthony, to plan the funeral and made a few requests -- that the service be private and Caylee be buried in a casket with a tombstone to mark the grave.

However, her parents planned otherwise, are hosting a public memorial and may have had the child cremated.

Casey Anthony also did not want the media and cameras involved in any services.

"But I can't stop my parents from doing what they want," Casey Anthony's statement said. "I truly hope it helps them."

The news conference comes on the eve of a public memorial for Anthony's daughter Caylee Marie. Anthony is accused of killing her daughter. The toddler's remains were found Dec. 11 less than a mile from the home she shared with Anthony and her grandparents.

Thousands are expected to attend the memorial service Tuesday at First Baptist Church of Orlando, about a mile from the Orange County Jail where Casey Anthony is being held.

Baez said Casey Anthony has not decided whether to watch the funeral coverage on TV from the jail. She does have a transistor radio. But Baez said he doesn't know whether Anthony will watch or listen.

Members of a controversial Kansas church known for protesting military funerals plan to picket Caylee Marie Anthony's memorial Tuesday.

Baez called their intended actions "despicable."

Casey Anthony Has Not Made A Request To View Memorial; Additional Link

According to the Orange County Jail; as of noon Monday, Casey Anthony has still not requested to view the memorial of her daughter, Caylee.
